You will often find people in meditation close their eyes. Why would they do that? They do that to stop looking at ‘reality’ in a way that they are looking and look at it through the eyes of God or Source which really is you.

It’s good in the beginning to close your eyes; but wouldn’t it be fun if we could take it beyond in day to day moments? Being that aware and being that calm most of the time? And being that observer?

I think it will be great fun to be an observer of life and then choose in what parts you’d like to be involved rather than just an observing.

Meditation gives you that choice. That’s exactly what Zen is about – being aware, always.

So let’s see how you can take your meditation beyond:

Reduce your passive meditation time

Let’s admit it; we are not much active during meditation. I don’t know about you but I’d rather be in passion then in meditation. Now it’s hard to be passionate when you are feeling bored or angry or something like that.

So I can always do quick meditation for 5 minutes and get in the vortex (vibrational vortex of pure positive energy) and then access passion easily. So stop prolonging those meditative moments and just use them as keys to better feeling places.

Skip Your Life

This one is awesome! Often we find ourselves in position where we just can’t take it. Either you are too bored or too annoyed. Now a spiritual person like you knows that it is not much fun to be dependent on outside conditions to change in order to change your emotional reaction.

Meditation comes in handy here. Meditation will take you into a better feeling place within minutes – from anxiety, nervousness, anger, annoyance or any sort of negative emotion to a place of ease & flow. Guess what? You have a situation where you can practice this feeling of meditation and take your control back.

Things will begin to change as you change the way you perceive it.

Find Answers to Questions

You can find answers to all your questions (solution to any of your problems) in meditation. You know why? Because when you ask, it is give. Always! So when you asked the questions or when you had that problem the answer and solution were there. But thanks to your observation of problem – the Law of Attraction keeps it right there.

Now when you go into meditation, the questions or desire is still there but there is no resistance because there is no observation of problem. So now you find the answers you were looking for.

Ideas will flood in! Insights will shower on you, you will remember things and people that you have forgotten which can be helpful to you in many ways. Wonderful things happen and you just sit back and enjoy.

Share Good Moments

Find people who are near you who like meditation, and make a list of friends that would also like to meditate. Make a small group of such people and meditate together. This is a great way to stay inspired about meditation and see the growth it brings about.

Often people, especially teens, complain that these gathering turn into parties so easily. And there is nothing wrong in that, meditation is path to joy and so is party. Perhaps a party meditation?

These were my ideas of taking that feeling of well-being which you experience in meditation into other aspects of your life. What are your views? Do you have ways you take it into wonderful new direction?

You might have heard that yoga can heal many of the diseases. And that’s true for meditation too! By meditating you can get rid of any disease! And I’ve tried it myself, so it’s verified!

But how?

While you practice meditation you go beyond mind and beyond what mind knows as dis-ease. There is just ease. Have you ever tried meditating when you have cold? Well if you haven’t I won’t suggest you to develop or eagerly wait to catch cold. But lemme tell you, when you meditate, disease is left somewhere far behind.

So you are now healthy, in meditation – full of healthy vibes and feelings. Pay attention to the feelings and health energy that is rising in you. Feel it healing your body, rejoice for it is healing your body. And you will feel wonderful. That’s it once you are emotionally and vibrationally healed (or in alignment with your true nature) you body will catch up with ya!

So you know how does it work, huh? So now let’s see how you can do it!

The Technique

Following are the steps that you have to follow if you wanna heal yourself:

First sit in any comfortable posture (in which you feel completely relaxed)

Close your eyes and start meditating

And after 5-10 minutes you’ll start feeling relaxed also you will feel some vibes (tinglings) in some parts of your body (that’s body’s natural healing energy). Feel it and feel it rising.

Feel the energy spreading in your body and healing.

Feel that goodness and healthiness for the next 10-15 minutes

Easy, huh? Try it!

What Can it Heal

Nothing and everything. If you believe it can, then it can and if you don’t believe it can, well… To give you a general idea – In my case it has worked with headaches, body pains (my friends told me), colds, coughs etc.

So explore more and lemme know what it does for you.

Cheers!

What exactly meditation does? How it benefit you? In what ways is it helpful?

Meditation is observing the show called life. It’s taking a step back to sit and watch. Life ought to be treated as a passing show because it’s one step in your existence as a spiritual being. Everything is in a constant change of change.

Your thoughts, feelings, and body are dynamic by nature. Nothing bound by time is immune from change. Meditation allows one to accept change as a natural part of life. Sitting still, you can see that you aren’t who you think you are. ‘You’ aren’t your thoughts, your feelings, or your body. You are a spirit, awareness and every thing is an object of your awareness.

Noted spiritual teacher Ram Dass used this analogy in ‘Journey Of Awakening’ to describe the concept of awareness. I’ll paraphrase.

Imagine yourself in a move theater. If the movie is enthralling you are drawn into it. The story line captures your attention and keeps it until the end. If the movie is poor you tend to notice other things: the quality of the popcorn, people chattering, the seating arrangement. You pull back from the movie and note that it is a story and other things occur as the story proceeds.

Awareness can be likened to the second example. Instead of being drawn into the drama of your life you surround it with space. Note an event and move on. No deep emotional attachments to anything, just acceptance, observation, and progression. This isn’t to say that life is a ‘ho-hum’ type deal. It’s just pure acceptance of everything as it is.

Consider your thoughts, feeling, and body.

You are not your thoughts. Thoughts are things. They are not you. They are your possession, your brain child. When you decide to let a thought go, it’s gone. Who made the decision? Who’s in control here? You! Meditation is observing thoughts and allowing them to leave. You do the allowing, not the thought. This is the most liberating concept of all. The more you lose attachment to your thinking the more “I am”-ness. The more “I am”-ness, the more freedom. No need to try to be anything, other than yourself.

You are not your feelings. Happiness and sadness come and go as you decide to embrace and release. See who’s in control? It can be tough to grasp this concept because feelings literally strike a chord within your body. The human body physically moves into a higher or lower vibration depending upon the feelings you choose to experience. Like all things in the universe the body is a form of energy. Experiencing a surge in energy can feel overwhelming, especially when it’s a low energy vibration.

Meditation slows everything down. It allows you to observe how you generate and release emotions. A person in complete control of their feelings doesn’t live at the mercy of life. Whatever happens can be embraced in one moment and released the next.

You are not your body. The body is your spirit’s home for its short stay on this plane. As you pass on the body sticks around and continues to change until it too moves into another form of energy. You can call the body home base, for now.

When you no longer identify with your body you cease to judge it. Most criticize their bodies. They fight the natural flow of things; wanting to look better, younger, more desirable as Father Time moves on. As you sit in stillness you can accept your body for what it is – a vessel for your spirit is. With this realization comes less self-conscious tension and more happiness.

This isn’t an excuse to not take care of your body. This is your home! Happiness begins at home. Eat a balanced diet and exercise.

It’s evident that meditation is freeing. Losing identification with your thoughts, feelings, and body causes you to no longer be bound by them. These are common effects of deep, sustained meditation:

Increased happiness

Peace of mind

Identification with the real you

Being in the flow

Attracting inspirational ideas

Calmness

Balance

Increased health

Meditation is a liberating vehicle. Set aside at least 30 minutes a day to reveal who you really are.

Here is a bit of what we talked in video:

What is Meditation?

Meditation is disconnecting from body, thoughts feelings and everything else and in that moment realizing that you are none of them. You are far beyond that what you see and think…

How to do it?

A simple method that we discussed in first post…
Can I meditate in school bus? Is listening to music Meditation too?
Yes! And Yes. Doing anything that pleases you and relaxes you is first step of meditation. Listening to music that inspires you are raises your vibes/lightens your mood is most popular form of meditation.

Do I have to wear orange clothes and stuff? That sucks!

Not at all! Think of meditation as breathing. Most of what is true of breathing is true of meditation too…

Here is what to do after this:

Tell us how you liked the video in comments. Tell us what questions would you like to get answered; what are you views about meditation?

Why not record your own video and post them as video reply? Do comment about how you liked the video and what would you like to see in videos in future. Crazy ideas are always invited!

So you want to start meditation eh? But you are already doing it! Listening to favorite music, spending time with friends & singing out loud is all meditation...

Do you think you don’t meditate? Well think again! What happens when it’s your favourite track playing on iPod? When you feel so good petting your cat? When you love spending time with your best friend? When you just take a quick nap? You are meditating! No, really you are!

Meditation is as Natural as Breathing.

You don’t have to sit in some yoga poses wearing orange clothes to meditate. Think of it as breathing. Do you take out time to breathe? Do you make any extra effort to breathe? Do you wear special clothes to breathe? No! Same is true for meditation too.

Don’t do anything to begin. Either follow the simple meditation process I talked about in earlier post or just do any of following:

Plug-in your iPod: Just put on your favourite inspirational music. Love songs do the best.

Paint: Even if you think you can’t. Just paint for the fun of it, not to show it to anyone… just for your soul.

Write a Poem: Let your thoughts flow, forget the rhyming scheme or book on ‘How to Write Poetry’ just be with the flow.

Watch Sunset or Sunrise: It’s wonderful, do it with someone special and now it’s really special.

Travel: You are not living your life id you are not traveling.

Pet your cat: or whatever pet you have (if you have one)

Play with a baby: it really teaches you a lot.

Play a music instrument or Learn to play one.

Watch Comedy Shows: Well that’s easy
