This post rocks, I can tell.
In my first video on Meditation Rocks! I talked about meditation inducing similar effects as drugs but without any side-effects. Since then, I’ve had this discussion with so many.
I thought it’d be good to put up an explanation. Not that I owe you one, but because you wanted one.
Drugs diffuse your focus so you cannot think in detailed way you are accustomed to. And meditation does similar thing – it points your focus to such a non-expanding thought that you almost think nothing. As a result – both happy and unhappy thought cease.
Both diffuse focused thinking to the point where it is hardly noticeable. But Marijuana users don’t agree that it is as much fun because meditation still needs conscious effort and that is a good thing.
As you consciously practice mediation your control over your mind increases. Now a far better thing would be to practice a good feeling emotion rather than meditation, but that is a bit off tack here.
So meditation can be a great escape for people who are seeking relief from drug addiction. Just start mediating. You will have your control back.
What do you think?
