Meditate in Noise

How to Meditate in A Noisy Environment or At A Noisy Place

by King Sidharth

in Advance Skills

Yesterday we talked about how mediating in noisy environment is not only possible but is awesome. Today I am going to share with you my personal meditation technique to meditate in noisy environment or at a noisy place:

  • Sit, Stand or do whatever is possible to make your body stress free. (just to feel good, it’s optional)
  • Now close your eyes, or if you can’t just close them a bit so that you are not distracted by visuals. Yeah! you know what I am talking about.
  • Now pay attention to all that noises around you.
  • Don’t try to interpret, and don’t try not to interpret. Just let it be. Be in the moment.
  • Observe the sounds, just let them be.
  • Soon you will transcend them and enter the real you.
  • Enjoy for as long as you want.
  • Come back to walking conscious slowly when you feel like.

Where Can You Do It

Annoying Noises Prohibited
Airports, Home, School, Work, Lunch Break, Roadside, KFC, Starbucks, Library the list is endless. There you go, now you have power to meditate almost anywhere. I don’t think I have to tell you where to find a noisy environment. Our dear world is full of it.

Share your experience and techniques

Try it out. Why not now? And share your experience. And if you have a meditation technique to share – write a guest post!

So go ahead, mediate. If it is not noisy enough turn on your TV, put some music with it and make let the alarm clock go wild. We shall meditate.

Namaste.

Excellent advice Sid.

It's important you mention observing the sounds. Sometimes I make the mistake of trying to ignore noises in a busy environment, which is a no-no for meditation. Trying at all is a no-no.

Especially in noisy environments, it's necessary to embrace and release.

Well said buddy!

And you told that there are NO guest posts, and now you are telling to write a guest post. But ne'er mind. AWESOME!!! ;)

Hey Manav
What I meant was there is no 'guest' post on Meditation Rocks, you all are authors. Well now you know. Thanks!

Thanks Ryan!
So true, no trying that's why I said “Don't try to interpret and don't try not to interpret. Just let it be.”
Oh Yea! I love that song from the Beatles.

Let's embrace and let go.

For me, meditating in a noisy place is called daydreaming! I'm pretty good at it too.

Hello Gabe,
Lol, that's a wonderful way to put it. I love daydreaming too. Maybe we should do a post or two about it. Thanks for dropping by.
