Astral projection or Out of Body experience is woo-woo land of meditation. Have you ever had an experience where you were like… out of your body? It usually happens when you are about to sleep, about to wake up or during meditation.

People love it because it feels so unlimited and powerful. They can fly; they can be anywhere and do anything. They see freedom, power and joy.

And then they try to make it happen again and spend a lot of money in trying to learn from those who claim to have mastered it.

What is it & Why the hell Do you Want it?

Think again, they want to be out of this body, the quickest way I know – die. And then they argue that they just want to feel that good and unlimited again – that’s where it gets screwy!

That OBE (Out of Body Experience) was God’s / Source’s way of reminding you your true nature – unlimited, capable and joyous. You don’t need to prove yourself that again and again. It is struck in your memory as a reminder of your true nature that you easily cannot forget.

That’s also true for dreams that you can’t forget and think about again and again. They are reminders or indicators of direction –they are like indicator of what is active in your vibration. And sometimes answers to your questions.

I am not saying that you should jump off the cliff, just want to remind you that you are meant to be in your body not out of it.

What do they mean?

If there is one thing that it means, it’d be – “You can be, do or have anything that you want. You experienced it and now live it in your physical expression.”

People often seek dream interpreters and such to know what does their dream means. And I want to ask, why will you ever get a guidance that you can’t interpret yourself? The meaning is not in the details of who was there, where were you –that’s why you forget that so quickly. The meaning is how it felt, follow the feeling and you shall know.

How to experience them again?

First question, ‘Do you really want to be out of body, or live how that felt while you are in?’ You want to be in these bodies, that’s why you came here.

What you really want is that feeling of listlessness and unspeakable joy. Remember how the OBE felt, without being bummed about it now happening again and you will see your life transforming around it.

Conclusion

OBE are usually experienced by those who want to know “is that all?” life’s got for them and who want to know their listlessness. They are sort of reminders of your powerful self.

Remember what it came to remind and live it life, in your body. When you are meant to go out of it, you will go – till then – enjoy your body.

Have you ever had out of body experience? How did it feel? What was it about? What did it mean to you? Share your experience in the comments.

I’ve used the word ‘consciousness’ a million times (and I still misspell it often). But what does it actually mean? No, I am not going to give you a dictionary or almighty Wikipedia definition – because they don’t tell you anything. No one can know the meaning of love by reading about it in dictionary.

Consciousness is conscious – energy conscious of itself – aware of itself (aware of it’s own existence). I used to think that would be all living things but recent from recent conversations with Abraham I learned that everything is consciousness – everything is aware of itself. Yes even the rocks, the sand grains, even your computer screen!

Their perspective might be entirely different from yours but everything is consciousness. At this point I remember reading about it in Heart Sutra and Diamond Sutra (Remind me to write about them later).

Let us discuss some more properties of consciousness:

It is Energy

Everything is energy, everything is consciousness. This makes so much sense. The source of that energy is non-physical in nature. That means it cannot me smelled, tasted, touched, seen or heard.

It is Vibrational in Nature

I don’t know what you get by vibration but all energy is vibrational in nature and so is consciousness. And all vibrations are managed by the powerful Law of Attraction which is constantly brining like vibrations together.

It is Well-Being

There is nothing as negative enegy. There is nothing called evil, just well being or resistance to it. There is a stream of well-being which flows thorough and to all that is. Those who resist it with their thoughts experience negativity and those who allow it experience well being.

It’s hard concept to get but so it is. I’d like to quote Abraham Hicks Here:

“You do not look for a dark switch which you will flip and inky-misty darkness covers the room, you will not find one. There is no source of darkness – only a source of light that can be resisted.” – Abraham Hicks

There is light or absence of it – no anti-light. There is well-being or absence of it – no evil.

It Enjoys Physical Form

Consciousness does not need to be physical form, thought it enjoys it. Physical form needs consciousness to exist. You can and in fact you do exist out of this physical form. You are not dead or alive – physical or non-physical. You are always alive and always non-physical – sometime choosing to take physical form.

“We are not physical beings going through spiritual journey; we are spiritual beings going trough physical journey.”

This kind of leads to another thing I want to talk about. People often talk of their souls, or consciousness as if it is different. As if it is some sort of light they carry. They think they are their body and souls keep it alive.

Wrong! You are consciousness – your body is just a form. Your awareness is your soul. You are that which consciousness is.

It is Unlimited & Expanding

People want to think of God or soul as perfect, and of themselves as trying to catch-up with their perfectness. Nothing is perfect, everything is evolving and that which you call God (which really the creative center of that which is you) is evolving right along with you on this leading edge of thought.

You are unlimited and you free to choose. You, as consciousness, come in physical world to experience the choices and be more. Nothing else will ever resonate with you.

How Feel your Unlimited Conscious Self

Want to feel how unlimited you are? Want to feel your full power? Meditation is one of the good ways I know. Though this site is full of all the techniques you can try but I am going to give you something right here so you can just read and go for it:

Sit comfortably with your back straight. (Important or you will fall asleep)

Close your eyes (after reading the article, that is)

Focus on your breathing.

Your mind will wander off, just gently get back on breathing – don’t fight it.

Keep doing till 10-15 minutes. (You can set an alarm)

Make sure you come back to tell me how you felt. Right now, if you feel like, you can share your thoughts about consciousness in the comments below:

If there is anything common between the awesome top-gun I am and the lousy thing you are – then it’s gotta be Siddy. We have learned many bad things from him. (Screw him!)

So it is time to unlearn some of the shit he has taught you.

Worst of Worst – Be Calm, Peaceful & in Ease and Flow

I’ll tell you what. Life ain’t no fun when it’s shitty easy and flowing. I like it raw and wriggling. Goullum! Gollum!

So make it hip and put on some dirty music. Put on some death metal, as if I care. Now think. Think in midst of that flowing energy, you will love it. If you won’t, you are an idiot.

I will give a challenge. Can you meditate in middle of f***ing fast music? I bet you can’t! haha!

If any of you lazy ass manages to beat that then I will see you in comments section. If you are a pretty girl, I might consider seeing you in personal. Lucky shit you are.

Next Best Thing – Be Naked

Have you ever tried that? You weird cloth wearing c**t?! It’s awesome. I work topless ( no I don’t exchange pictures so STFU!).

Try that. Be free. Let’s make a nudist colony. I am thinking of asking your pretty smart Siddy to make me a website that says ‘Nudism Rocks’. At least talk some sense dude. Some day you will be lucky to have that blog. Today is not that day.

If you’ve been paying attention I am talking about meditation here. Yea that weird closed legs and crossed eyes stuff… err… crossed legs & closed eyes. Yeah! Exactly, that shit you do.

So try and meditate while you are naked. I will tell you what. Poor Siddy wanted to share this idea with you since so long. But he is f***ing shy (and show off) so I did you a favor. You super lucky f***er.

That’s enough of luck for today. Go screw yourself or meditate, for all I care. It’s time for me to download some things while Siddy is away, if you know what I mean.

Subscribe to this shit and we will have something more in common. Or go away and stop bugging me you bugger. F*** You!

King Sidharth’s Note to Readers: Please bear with me, I am busy and I have to give it to my alter ego to write for you. You know it’s not me, right? I don’t swear. Like at all.

King Sidharth’s Note to Alter Ego: F**k You!

You asked for it, and here I am. Why do you have to hear from me? (You stupid ass) Don’t you know I was asleep?!

So you want me to teach you a thing or two about meditation, eh?

Then let me f***ing teach you something. Here is the thing:

Meditators Should Be Angry

Who’s the f***ing bastard who told you that meditators are not angry?! F**k, they are angry as hell. They are people, not some shitty angle trying to play nice with God.

So I’ll tell you what, be angry and be as angry as you can. And when others try to calm you down or tell you that they don’t like you tell them to

“Fuck Off!”

…because meditation gives you that awesome selfishness. See me? I don’t give a shit about what you are gonna think of me. I am no f***ing King Sidharth. Be like me, don’t give a rip.

Meditation tells you ‘shut the **** up’ and then you see yourself – your f**king God self.

That’s it for today.

Since your dear-heart Siddy is busy with some shit, you are going to hear from me this week. Lucky bastards you are. (If you are not an idiot you will demand for me to write more to you – when he comes back, that is)

Now if you are smart you will go and subscribe to this blog because I blog here every now and then. And in case you are over-smart and have already done that, you will go and share it with friends of yours who need some shit in their brain. (Use ‘Sharing is Sexy’ stuff below)

If you don’t, you are an idiot.

Go meditate, or don’t. As if I care.

You will often find people in meditation close their eyes. Why would they do that? They do that to stop looking at ‘reality’ in a way that they are looking and look at it through the eyes of God or Source which really is you.

It’s good in the beginning to close your eyes; but wouldn’t it be fun if we could take it beyond in day to day moments? Being that aware and being that calm most of the time? And being that observer?

I think it will be great fun to be an observer of life and then choose in what parts you’d like to be involved rather than just an observing.

Meditation gives you that choice. That’s exactly what Zen is about – being aware, always.

So let’s see how you can take your meditation beyond:

Reduce your passive meditation time

Let’s admit it; we are not much active during meditation. I don’t know about you but I’d rather be in passion then in meditation. Now it’s hard to be passionate when you are feeling bored or angry or something like that.

So I can always do quick meditation for 5 minutes and get in the vortex (vibrational vortex of pure positive energy) and then access passion easily. So stop prolonging those meditative moments and just use them as keys to better feeling places.

Skip Your Life

This one is awesome! Often we find ourselves in position where we just can’t take it. Either you are too bored or too annoyed. Now a spiritual person like you knows that it is not much fun to be dependent on outside conditions to change in order to change your emotional reaction.

Meditation comes in handy here. Meditation will take you into a better feeling place within minutes – from anxiety, nervousness, anger, annoyance or any sort of negative emotion to a place of ease & flow. Guess what? You have a situation where you can practice this feeling of meditation and take your control back.

Things will begin to change as you change the way you perceive it.

Find Answers to Questions

You can find answers to all your questions (solution to any of your problems) in meditation. You know why? Because when you ask, it is give. Always! So when you asked the questions or when you had that problem the answer and solution were there. But thanks to your observation of problem – the Law of Attraction keeps it right there.

Now when you go into meditation, the questions or desire is still there but there is no resistance because there is no observation of problem. So now you find the answers you were looking for.

Ideas will flood in! Insights will shower on you, you will remember things and people that you have forgotten which can be helpful to you in many ways. Wonderful things happen and you just sit back and enjoy.

Share Good Moments

Find people who are near you who like meditation, and make a list of friends that would also like to meditate. Make a small group of such people and meditate together. This is a great way to stay inspired about meditation and see the growth it brings about.

Often people, especially teens, complain that these gathering turn into parties so easily. And there is nothing wrong in that, meditation is path to joy and so is party. Perhaps a party meditation?

These were my ideas of taking that feeling of well-being which you experience in meditation into other aspects of your life. What are your views? Do you have ways you take it into wonderful new direction?

I wonder how come I’ve never written a post about this. This is so important and this is the key science is looking for when they try to experiment with meditation and meditators.

The key is emotion. What will it take them to accept that we are emotional / visceral / vibrational beings? Every action we take and every thought we think has a visceral cause. That’s advanced explanation of the law of cause and effect.

The emotion that meditation provokes the most is compassion. Now before we go further let’s define it.

What is Compassion

Compassion is not pity that you feel for someone less happy than you, it’s the joy that you feel in knowing their wellness. Jesus and Buddha are great examples. They never let themselves see the version of you as you are but they knew so vividly the real ‘self’ of you.

This quality comes from meditation. There are other ways too but this is most effective of all. Meditation is like sunbathing in light of your true self (which you often come to know as God). But God is not outside of you –it really is you – the greater you, it’s King Sidharth or Abraham part of you.

A Symptom of Change and Self Realization

As you know that light, you know it to be not only yours but to be all that is, you shine that on everyone. That is compassion – overflowing feeling of love, appreciation and joy.

“You are the light of the world.” – Jesus

All Buddhist are supposed to practice compassion since Brahama asked Buddha to teach it.

Compassion is the aura that surrounds you, and people call you charismatic.

Compassion is the healing power of healers.

Compassion is the calmness that experience and others say, you are always so peaceful!

Compassion is what you feel when you see others facing same problems that you overcome. And you trust that they will find a way.

Compassion is the power of transformation.

Compassion is the symptom of great eternal change. It’s at the brink of enlightenment.

Scientific Stroy

For scientific minds of you, when we are fussing and worrying – then those are the connections that neurons in our mind is are making. Meditation ceases that, and the brain-wiring returns to it’s natural state of wellness. The whole process feels like compassion.

Practice Compassion – Be Aware

So from now, let us be aware of compassion rising within us and let us consciously practice it. And whenever you feel anger, rage or any negative emotion rising within, do not fight it. Just meditate it out.

How do you perceive compassion? What is your take on this? Do you feel it dawning on you?

Dance is amazing, Meditation is astonishing. Let's put them together and see what happens.

What do you do when everything seems to be stuck? What do you do when you are overwhelmed with amount of work? What do you do when you want to stop procrastinating? What do you do when you just want to be yourself?

Me? I close the door of my room, and dance…

This is no joke or something, well it can be if you want to make it one but dance is really a great way to enter meditation.

But I Can’t Dance!

I can hear some of you swearing under your breath, “What the…! I can’t dance! I suck at dancing!” Well you don’t. I am not talking about dancing on stage or dancing for show or dancing at parties – I am talking about real dance, the passion that every dancer seeks in it – the energy that bursts out when you dance, the enlightenment you attain when dancing!

The Real Dance

Dance is expressing joy of life and living in physical form. Now many might argue that it’s ‘doing’. Yes it is if you are trying to remember steps but the dance I am talking about has no steps, no posture, no formality and it doesn’t even need music!

I am talking about the dance you do when you are happy. The little soul dance when you achieve. Have you noticed that your body gets into a rhythm and you move about in a funny way and jump about? That’s the dance I am talking about! It has no steps, no music and no thought – pure bliss and that’s meditation.

How to Meditate while Dancing

Please note that this is not for beginners, how would you know if it’s meditation you are doing or just feeling good? I recommend that you practice easier meditation for at least a month and then try this. Or maybe, you know just don’t listen to me and do it anyways.

Just close your room, drop the curtains, make sure no one can watch you. Cover the mirrors – many people stop in middle just because they can’t stand even a glimpse of their true self.

Now put on some music, for start you have to later you can eliminate this step. I recommend faster beats of Sufi music, or Rock music if you like energetic dancing. Or you can try classical music or soft music if you like slow dancing. Put it on!

Close your eyes and let music soak in. You will feel sensations in your body, follow them and move what you feel like. You don’t have to follow the beats just move about.

Let your hands move and your feet tap, Let your arms swing and your head look up. Let go of control and just dance. Ummm… yeah!

Tip: It really helps to remember best of your moments and experience joy.

You are not trying to please anyone or dance for someone. This dance is for you, do it as you like it. Do it for yourself. Do it because it feels so good!

Warning: You will love it so much that you may end of putting in hours and hours dancing. Remember to take rest, eat and drink.

Here is how you can begin dancing without music. First try to remember the beats of your fav. song and dance with them soon you will find yourself dancing without music. You will dance to the music of universe.

Dance Meditation in Short

Start dancing… just do it.

Conclusion

This is the dance of flowers in wind, this is the dance of trees in storm, the dance of rain, the dance of soul in joy, dance of Shiva in anger, dance of water on fall, dance of leaves in autumn – it’s so natural.

Go on. Do it now! And please do come back later to let me know how you loved it.

I think I’ve mentioned this before – I love The Zennist. If you have never heard of him – he is a blogger, he blogs about Buddhism and related subjects and he is awesome! Not everyone can appreciate the wisdom he shares but those who can understand are surely in love with what he writes.

Anyways, he recently explained the science of meditation – which I thought was so impossible to do but he did it! What a genius. He uses easy analogy to explain it.

Here is the link to the original post.

I explained to Karl that transverse waves were like ocean waves consisting of up and down motions, whereas longitudinal waves are more like sound waves although this is not quite accurate insofar as most illustrations of sound waves actually show transverse waves. Perhaps a better example is a huge block of steel. If you tap on it with a hammer the wave created is more like a longitudinal wave. It goes with the steel medium—not up and down like a water wave does which is occurring at right angles to the body of water (i.e., up and down).

A New Analogy

Thought his way of explaining is wonderfully understandable but some won’t get what he is saying. For those some here is an easier version:

We live in a vibrational world. Our senses are vibrational interpreters, what you see is vibrational interpretation, what you hear is vibrational interpretation. Vibrations are like waves – most of what we see in this world are waves with nature of going up and down.

Like sea water, or water in tub – up and down. Their direction is perpendicular to that of medium (read: source). Even most of our thoughts are such.

Meditation is simply about tuning into waves that are longitudinal – that is they travel in the direction of medium. Imagine you are in water, now water is flowing in a direction, that flowing of water is seen in physics almost as waves. That flow is longitudinal – it’s about going with those waves and thinking in those waves.

I hope that helped.

Man, what an apt analogy it is. It fills the heart of meditator with joy to see that one can explain the vast world of non-physical in physical language. Brillant!

Group Discussion

After you’ve read the original article, do come back and discuss what you can understand or if you have any questions to ask or insights to share. Don’t feel stupid if you have questions or you didn’t understand it all together – you’ve question that means you are intelligent enough to understand it.

Contradicting! Isn’t it? Rock Music – the freaking stuff and Meditation the clam stuff? Won’t it be a chaos to put them together? Well, not really. Remember I was talking about an experiment I was doing before I wrote about meditating with music? Well here it is…

Can we Meditate with Rock Music? Yes we can and truly I tell you it’s awesome. Now please stay and hear me till the end if you want to know what I am talking about.

How it Works

Observing or rather ‘knowing’ the passing of time, passing of emotion or passing of anything, while you remain stationary, is a state of meditation. So that’s exactly what we are doing here – rock music with comparatively higher tempo (more beats per minute) that usual music for meditation is perfect for creating the sense of urgency or passing of time.

A word of warning here, try this only if you’ve been meditating for a month at least. Otherwise it will do no good to you. You need to be familiar with ‘state of meditation’ before you do this. That’s why it’s been categorized as Advance Skill.

How to Meditate with Rock Music:

Select a rock track – preferable in language you don’t know so you won’t be urged into lyrics. But rock music isn’t know for lyrics anyways. You can try hard rock which is better.

Play it on normal volume.

Sit, stand or lay with your back straight.

Close your eyes.

And focus on the beats…

Count it for breathe in or breathe out with it.

Just go with the beats, thought might come – release them – go with the beats.

Beat Beat …. faster it will go… go with the beats…. go go go.

Go as long as the song goes.

The Real Thing

That’s all to it for beginning. But hear this – this is just the beginning – after practice of a week or so, you will begin to detach from the beats – you won’t be in them but they will be in you.

Now some of you might experience that right away or in a few min. in first sitting. And Voila! You’ve reached the state of meditation with rock music that is unique to it’s listener.

If you ever ask people who go to rock concerts a lot – they will tell you that there are brief moments of time when they feel as if the time has stopped – and they love those. They try to induce it with loud music and even drugs – but here I give it to you without external things and harmful substances.

This will also help you learn to love all genres of music, it did help me.

Recommended Rock Music for Meditation

Here are the songs I’ve often used:

Zazen is easiest meditation ever. And it is all you need to be enlightened. Discover the power of doing nothing.

Thought I’ve mentioned this one time and again. In fact, I used it as base for other meditation techniques I developed on my own. But here it is, in it’s full glory and simplicity and some more insights on practice. Though a bit of confession before we proceed, Zazen is too astonishing and deep a practice to be explained in words – only experience can best describe it.

What is Zazen?

In brief: The practice of meditation in Zen. Usually it’s called ‘doing nothing’. It unites the body, mind and soul and you experience oneness with yourself and all that is.

What are it’s benefits?

This is the worst questions which aspiring mediators ask, trying to look for ‘benefits’ everywhere. But yet it’s got to be answered – the best of best benefit that you’ll experience is ‘satisfaction’ or ‘contentment’ and ‘knowingness’.

Rest of best is far beyond notions of ‘benefits’. I’d rather call them ‘life transformation’ or ‘miracles’.

Who can practice? When? Where?

Same answer for all meditations: doesn’t matter.

How to Practice Zazen:

The Mindset: I know it’s hard, so make no effort to leave worries and tension behind. Meditation’ll let it out.

The Posture: You can sit in ‘lotus pose’ or ‘half lotus pose’ or simply on a chair. Keep your back straight.

Eyes: Open or close – doesn’t matter. If you have hard time of letting go of thoughts with open eyes then close them. Though, traditionally – eyes half open.

Now inhale and let your belly swell out as you do so count ‘1’.

Exhale and let your belly go in as you do so count ‘2’.

Keep on going like this till 10 and start again at one.

Your focus should be blurred on breathe. Don’t try and focus to hard – just be easy about it.

When you find yourself tangling with a thought just acknowledge it and let go of it.

Continue meditating as long as you want to.

Zazen is Goal (The Story)

Many might ask ‘where are we headed in all this? Where is it leading to? What’s the goal?’. Especially the people who were educated from outside ask these questions and there is nothing bad about it. In fact, being curious is good.

The answer is – the practice is the goal. What you are doing is all we are headed for. It is called ‘art of doing nothing’ for some reason. Experience is and you will get your answers.

Here is a small story for you to explain what I am trying to say:

Once a monk was practicing Zazen and his master came to him. Seeing him practicing since hours he went up to him and asked him, “My great disciple, what are you trying to achieve with such great practice of Zazen?’

Delighted disciple answered, ‘I shall attain enlightenment, master.’

Hearing this, the master took a large black stone and started rubbing it.

Seeing this the disciple asked, ‘What are you doing, master?’

Master said, ‘I will turn this stone into a mirror – I am polishing it.’

Disciple said, ‘O great master, no matter how much or how long you polish it – it can’t turn into a mirror.’

Master replied, ‘If you can attain enlightenment through Zazen, then why can’t I make a stone into a mirror.’

Meaning

I know, it’s one of those Zen Stories that doesn’t make sense at first reading. So here is the meaning for you:

Zazen is not way to make stone into mirror i,e. It is not a way to attain enlightenment – it is enlightenment.

If you practice Zazen for 30 min, you are a Buddha for 30 min.

It is all you need. Zazen is your true state of being – fulfilled, rewarded, joyous, appreciative and at centre of existence. That’s you!
