I love challenges, they make life so much more fun. So I am going to throw a new challenge to myself – Read a Book a Week. Yes, a book every week.
Books are really source of great information, though blogs are replacing them fast, but the more books get replaces more valuable they become and keep progressing.
Will you join me in this challenge? Don’t tell me ‘I have exams, I am busy’ and stuff like that… Don’t read this blog if you want to make excuses – if you want to you can – this is your life. Take control – meditate.
FYI: I have exams too, perhaps the most important educational exams of my life. But reading is habit I can’t live without. I am addicted. You don’t have to finish it in a week, in beginning it will take 2-3 weeks to finish it but later your speed will improve.
Here is what to do:
- Pick up a book and read it. (Any Topic)
- Take notes while you read it.
- Share what you read once you finish it. Tweet with hash-tag #bookaweek
- Don’t have twitter? Write on our wall.
- Write a review on Meditation Rocks! or your blog, or at least share the notes you took with us. (Optional)
So let’s develop this awesome habit for a lifetime. Read books. 52 a year, and more if you will.
Let me know what you think about the idea, who all are joining and what book you choose for coming week. Any more ideas you’d like to add?
Enjoy Your Weekend..
Notice: The books you mention may turn into affiliate links, if you have any problem with me making some money doing blogging then you can say goodbye to this blog.

I decided to do the same thing as my New Year resolution… I've read like 7 books till now, which is a bit off the schedule… I'll catch up after exams!
Good Luck to whoever takes up the challenge!!
Ankita
Hey Ankita,
It's ok if you want to join later. You can say yes to it now.
Hey Sid!
Great idea indeed. I just finished 'The Winner Stands Alone' by Paulo Coelho. Have to buy a new book, coz I've read everything. Hmmm… May be I can read 'The Innocent Man' by John Grisham. Will look into that and let's see what happens!
Have fun!
Hey Manav,
So should I count you in? Yea, Paulo Coelho is awesome! I love his work. Not sure about John Grisham thought. I am going to review a book by Deepak Chopra and a new book on Law of Attraction. So if you can wait till then before buying – that'd be good enough.
Enjoy
Hey Sid!
Yup you can count me in! Great, I think I'll wait till then. What's the book's name by Deepak Chopra? And the new book on The Law of Attraction?
CHEERS!
BTW, Why isn't my Gravatar appearing?
The Third Jesus by Deepak Chopra
The Vortex by Esther & Jerry Hicks
I have no idea, check your registration?

Great, so we are going to discuss our books every week and stuff like that. Mail this post to your friends if you think they will be interested.
I am so happy to have you in
I have a better idea: Instead of putting all these reviews on a meditation blog, we can make another blog dedicated to it! Yeah, it may be expensive for you, as you have a whole lot of other blogs. But it's your decision!

With book clubs, the point isn't so much “storytime” where the teacher reads the book to the class; it's about getting together with friends who have read the same book or want to suggest a book to each other and try to convince each other of things like
